In a New York Times article, aides close to Obama reveal that the senator really was hurt by the fact that Rep. John Lewis (Ga) choose Hillary Clinton over him.

“He told John that that he felt like a father was stabbing him in the back,” an aide to Mr. Obama said. “Barack sees himself as an extension of the civil rights movement, and so it hurt him deeply when a leader of that movement told him he wasn’t ready.” (Source)

  1. If you were Obama wouldn't you be hurt too? I just don't see what Lewis was hoping to accomplish when he went against Obama. He was better off had he remained neutral.

  2. I think in the long run people like Rep. Lewis and Rep. Waters will regret their decisions. They went against their constiuency and that doesn't bode well for them when they are up for re-election.
