I called it. Just in case you have been living under a rock, let me explain who LeAndria Johnson is. She is by far one of the most talented singers to ever grace the stage of BET's talent show, Sunday's Best. This SISTA IS BAD are the only words I can use to describe the Orlando native. She wowed me at her first audition when she walked in with flip flops and socks after losing her home to foreclosure and I haven't turned away since.
LeAndria is a 27 year old single mother of three children ages, 6, 4 and 10 months. She is praise and worship leader at HQ Ministries in Altamonte Springs, Fl, where she sings every Sunday morning and Wednesday.
Elder Goldwire Mclendon was stiff competition, but in the end I believe LeAndria's take on the songs 'Endow Me' and 'Running Back To You' took her over the edge.
Asked about what was the key to her winning, this is what she had to say:
Always be positive," she says. "Don't focus on the negative things in your life. Focus on the positive. The yes in you will be the yes for somebody else." source
AMEN!!! Now those are definitely words to live by.
Did you know that Sunday's Best finale was pre-recorded and two endings were shot? LeAndria find out she won exactly when everyone else found out. She learned of her victory while at a family gathering in Orlando.
