Brazilian Blowout, the chemical treatment that promises straight and manageable hair for up to 12 weeks at $200 to $500, has been found to contain formaldehyde by Oregon's Occupational Safety & Health Administration.

Stylists at an Oregon hair salon reported difficulty breathing, nosebleeds and eye irritation after coming into contact with the formula. But Brazilian Blowout maintains that its product is formaldehyde-free and is challenging Oregon OSHA's test results since the sample didn't come from the company, but from a salon.

High levels of formaldehyde could cause some types of cancers. source
