For Gabrielle Union, Rihanna's shooting spree in the "Man Down" video is all too familiar. The actress says she she too was sexually assaulted at gunpoint and tried to shoot her rapist. She took to Twitter this weekend to discuss her ordeal.

"Saw Man Down by Rihanna," she tweeted. "Every victim/survivor of rape is unique, including how they THINK they'd like justice to be handed out. During my rape I tried to shoot my rapist, but I missed.

"Over the years I realized that killing my rapist would've added insult to injury. The DESIRE to kill someone who abused/raped you is understandable, but unless it's self defense in the moment to save your life, [it] just ADDS to your troubles," Gabrielle continued.

Gabrielle does make a good point about the difference between self-defense and planning revenge. As she later suggested, perhaps the murder in the video was really Rihanna daydreaming about seeking revenge on her attacker. What do you think?

I have been very blessed and fortunate in this life to never have experienced any type of sexual assault, but I did have someone very close to me to get assaulted while we were in college. I can't imagine anyone trying to tell her how she should or should not feel about what happened to her.

I'm not one for advocating violence, but I can completely understand why Rihanna's character in her video reacted the way she did. Even thought I wasn't the one assaulted, I had the same reaction to do the same thing because I saw what it did to my friend.
