The gloves are definitely coming off. First Tom Joyner wrote an open letter to Tavis Smiley and Dr. Cornel West and now Steve Harvey is going in on them.

The segment is pretty long, but it's an interesting listening that brings up a lot of points. Steve does it in a comedic way, but he makes some interesting points.

Listen to the audio below:

Steve admits that he is a fan of Dr. Cornel West, but that he saw Tavis coming from a mile away. He even talked about Tavis and Cornel's poverty bus tour.

Here is what Steve said:

"I was a huge fan of Cornel West," said Harvey. "Tavis, I seen him coming a mile away. His anger started when he had a town hall meeting, President Obama couldn't come because of the campaign trail and he sent Mrs. Obama. He has held that grudge every since. You don't have any real basis behind your dislike for this keep masking it saying it's not about hate. Then what is it about? Poverty existed before January 20, 2008. Where was your damn bus then?"

  1. The mere fact that Steve Harvey is calling out Tavis and Cornell makes we wonder if there isn't something to the poverty bus tour. Cause I can't see myself agreeing with Steve "stepping fetcher" Havery.

  2. I don't agree with Steve on everything but as you said he did make some valid points. Particularly this idea of them getting all of this individual attention from the president. I also don't understand why they focus solely on the "policy" side of things. They have enough notoriety that they can organize and do something productive. Why rely on the president for everything? I'd like to see them do more than just something. That's my biggest issue with them.

  3. Whether you like "Steve" or not...the brother raised valid points. Did Tavis really say that they should have a 3 day meeting...seriously LMAO. POTUS might be a little busy running the free world...I'm just saying.
