While promoting her new televison series, 'Reed Between the Lines', actress Tracee Ellis Ross brought up the possibility of a movie version of the hit show 'Girlfriends' to Essence magazine:
ESSENCE.com: We loved you as Joan on "Girlfriends." Will there ever be a Girlfriends reunion?
The fact that people fell in love with Joan is a wonderful thing. It's like people saying you did your job well. I mean, they still see Ron Howard as Opie, and how long ago was that? So if anything, it's a mark that you did something good. [A reunion] is not on the radar, but I would love to do a "Girlfriends" movie. How much fun would it be to see what happens between Joan and Toni? Does Joan ever get married? I want to know! "The Game" got back on the air because of the fans, so I don't know what all you people are waiting for, we need you.

Now, this definitely gave me something to think about.  I have to admit I loved the show 'Girlfriends', but without Toni Childs---not so much.  So, it would be cool to see it brought to the big screen.  I mean if they can turn 'Sex and the City' into two movies, why not do the same for "Girlfriends'.  I do however have one caveat.  If there is no Toni Childs then count me out.
This is the movie Mara Brock Akil should have been working on instead of a 'Sparkle' remake (hell yes I'm still bitter about that...LOL!).
So, would you go and watch a movie version of 'Girlfriends'?
