Vanessa Long is rescinding her divorce petition after getting a visit from the church board. Mrs. Long is citing the stress of media attacks as to the reason why she filed for divorce in the first place.

Here is what she said:

"Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long," she said in an emailed statement bearing the New Birth logo. "I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage."

She went on to blame "years of attacks in the media" for her initial decision to seek a divorce.

Dang, it looks like New Birth is ran like the mafia...LOL! I'm just kidding. I don't want them coming to visit me next.

Now there are reports that the reason Mrs. Long's attorney withdrew the petition is so that he can make amendments to it, but because that is not standard practice (he could have made amendments by filing a new document) a lot of people are not buying it.

Original Post:
I just got word from a very reliable source at the courthouse in Atlanta that Vanessa Long has withdrawn her divorce petition. This whole thing is confusing.

She filed for divorce on Thursday and released a statement today, but she has since rescinded the petition.

What in the world is going on?

  1. Good article, however, the correct word should be rescinding, as opposed to rescinging.

  2. I think that he won her love back if she withdraw the divorce. Thanks.
