The wonderful bruhs of Kappa Alpha Psi and Omega Psi Phi have joined together to form a super polical action committee or SuperPACfor the re-election for President Obama. This is another one of those things that goes to my 10 New Year Resolutions for the Black Community. You think I'm kidding, but I'm serious about this thing.

The new SuperPAC is called 1911 United.

SuperPAC's are independent-expenditure only committees, which can raise unlimited sums from corporations, unions and other groups, as well as individuals. These committees were made possible by one Supreme Court decision, the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which lifted spending limits and a D.C. Circuit Court decision, Speechnow v. FEC, which invoked the logic of Citizens United to dispense with contribution limits on independent-expenditure committees.

The fraternities uniting is an example of the community learning how to play the game and becoming political power players. I said we have to become more involved political and starting a political action committee is definitely one of the ways to do such a thing.

  1. Love it. It's nice to see young Black men showing other young Black men that having an interest in politics and voting is a must!
