Happy New Year Savvy Family!!! Isn't it a blessing to be alive to see another year come and go. We lost a lot of people in 2011, but I'm glad that you and I are still here.

When I was younger I never could understand the reasons for New Year's resolutions. I didn't understand why people had to wait until the beginning of a new year to try and make a change in their life. Basically, I just viewed it as the "I'm going on a diet" or "I'm going to lose weight" thing. I really didn't get the significance.

Well I guess with age and a little life experience, my viewpoint has change. I now realize there is nothing wrong with setting goals in life. You may not be able to accomplish every goal, but it's good to have them. It gives you something to strive for. I mean, I still don't believe you have to wait until the beginning of a new year to set these goals for yourself, but for some people the new year is the motiviation they need to get things kick started in their life.

So, I want to know what are your New Year's Resolutions? You share yours with me and I'm going to share mine with you. I believe if you put things out in the atmosphere for all to see, you have no reason but to accomplish them. Maybe we can help or motivate each other to accomplish our goals.

Here are my ten New Year's Resolutions:

1. To get my first novel published
2. To continue to grow and expand The Savvy Sista brand
3. Work on my first screenplay
4. Get President Obama Re-elected!!!
