Le'Andria Johnson, the gospel dynamo who won the third season of BET's American Idol type gospel show, 'Sunday's Best', has wrote a statment admitting to the world that she is in fact withchild.

Here is what she wrote:

"In recent weeks, there have been numerous published reports stating that I am pregnant. I would like to take this time to confirm that I am pregnant and due in September. I have been feeling well and maintaining a healthy appetite. I have been busy traveling around the country with my music ministry. One can only imagine that as a mother and mother-to-be, my plate is quite full—taking the kids to school, doing homework, cooking—regular mother duties. I have been blessed to have the love and support of my church, family, friends, label, management, and fans. I have received so many beautiful and thoughtful notes and prayers from people all over the country. I ask that you continue to pray for me and my family. I cannot do this alone. I will continue to pray for God’s guidance and protection over my life. I love you all very much and I will be in touch soon." – Le’Andria Johnson

Johnson has received a lot of supportive comments, but of course there were those who was disappointed.

One commenter wrote this on Johnson's site:

“Honestly Le’Andria I am disappointed. To deny that I am not would be a gross lie. I look up to you and the anointing that exudes from you, I really do. Fornication is a serious sin and it is not one to be jumped over lightly or ignored. “

Johnson is a trooper who has known and conquered adversity in her life before. I'm pretty sure she'll get through this one as well. Besides, children are blessings regardless of the package or the way in which they enter this world wouldn't you say?

Congratulations to Ms. Johnson.

  1. Yes, we are saved by grace. This is the reason, God can require anything of me. We speak of judgment as if it's bad. Would anyone allow a well-known murderer to continue to live as if nothing happened? Christians who are wanting to be popular and "non-judgmental", need to read th scriptures again. Jesus told them "judge not lest ye be judged", because they were not applying those same standards to themselves. The ones who show us how inconsistent and hypocritical we are, tend to be well-known atheists, who reminds us that Christians don't live by any of their standards. The early Christians found out Annanias and Saphira were lying and they died instantly. If, the people of God were not allowed to judge one another's actions with love, then what do we say about Moses, Elijah, Elisha, Peter, Paul, etc... "true love only exists in the presence of judgment." Love is morally governed.

  2. My grandmother used to always say, "The baby is not the sin...What you did to make the baby is the sin... Now if you weren't ashamed of the sex....don't be ashamed of the baby... The baby is God's blessing to you despite the sin."

We are quick to shame others when we can see their sin, even if we ourselves are guilty of it... She's pregnant so now we know that she has had unprotected sex while unmarried... but if she had gotten an abortion, wouldn't that have also been a sin??? What if she had not gotten pregnant??? She still would have committed the sin but you wouldn't think less of her because you didn't know about it... and don't even get me started on how some of the same so called Christians are ready to rain hell and damnation down on her for having her baby...(kinda under the impression that's what we're supposed to do since our bodies are built for it) but you have nothing to say about the good "King" Eddie Long... *blank stare*

  3. She sinned and fell short but thank God for grace and mercy.God does not honor sex outside of marriage so I am so tired of the this talk about she should have been using birth control. The sin was in the sex not the baby.I love Le'Andria and all we can do is lift her name up in prayer. The God I serve heals, delivers, destroys yokes, and restores.I pray all this for her as well as her fam!!

  4. “In recent weeks, there have been numerous published reports stating that I am pregnant. ARE YOU COMING OUT BECAUSE THESE REPORTS WERE PUBLISHED? I would like to take this time to confirm that I am pregnant and due in September. CONFIRMING OR CONFESSING? I have been feeling well and maintaining a healthy appetite. WHAT ABOUT YOUR SPIRITUAL APPETITE? OTHER THAN FEELING WELL AND EATING RIGHT ONE MUST ADD, YOU HAVE BEEN FORNICATING. I have been busy traveling around the country with my music ministry. YOU HAVE BEEN HYPOCRITICAL, EXPRESSING DELIVERANCE AND SPREADING FALSE RELIGION TO YOUR FANS! One can only imagine that as a mother and mother-to-be, my plate is quite full—taking the kids to school, doing homework, cooking—regular mother duties. YOU’RE SAUCER IS FULL TOO. OK, SO YOU WANT TO TAKE OUR MIND OFF OF HOW HARD IT IS BEING A MOTHER AND HOW EASY IT IS TO BE A FORNICATOR! YOU WANT SYMPATHY FOR SINNING. I have been blessed to have the love and support of my church, family, friends, label, management, and fans. OK, SO NOW YOU WANT THE REST OF US TO JOIN THOSE WHO ARE UPHOLDING YOU IN YOUR WRONG. I have received so many beautiful and thoughtful notes and prayers from people all over the country. HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY OPEN REBUKE FROM YOUR PARENTS/PASTORS? I ask that you continue to pray for me and my family. LORD HELP ALL OF US, NOT OUR WILL LORD BUT YOURS BE DONE. I cannot do this alone. YOU ARE RIGHT YOU DID NOT DO THIS ALONE. WHERE IS THE BABY'S FATHER? THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. SHOULDN'T HE CONFIRM (CONFESS) TOO! I will continue to pray for God’s guidance and protection over my life. CONTINUE? I love you all very much and I will be in touch soon.” IN OTHER WORDS… OKAY, I’VE PUT IT OUT THERE! PLEASE DON’T STOP COMING TO MY CONCERTS, BUYING MY MUSIC AND I WILL SEE YOU AT THE NEXT PERFORMANCE: SIN, RESULT OF SIN AND HYPOCRISY. I DRANK AND I SANG, I FORNICATE AND I SANG, WHAT’S NEXT? I’m sorry abortion was not an option. ABSTINENCE AND MARRAIGE WERE OPTIONS.

    1. You shouldn't judge her because you don't know what goes on in her life. She-like everyone else in the world- SINS. Every sin is weighted the same in God's eye. So please take a look in the mirror before you cast a stone.

  5. I guess we are to expect that everytime she does something sinful, as long as she comes out and says she did it that it's okay. How will we know if she has just had a drink before she ministers or if she just got up from being wet before she sings. I don't want the spirit of confusion when I listen to her songs. I don't want the spirit of let me worship God for real only when I've done something wrong. What happened to consecration and fasting before we give back to God what is His! What else are you doing that we should know about? I mean you are spending and living off of our money. I'm not buying, downloading, supporting a minute more of this foolishness. It's all about the money or she would sit down because if it were about God she'd be too ashamed to respresent Him in this manner.

    1. Exactly now u talking! The baby is not to be blamed, but even God gave it a name and that is 'Bastard' n it had no part in it. Leandria is simply letting the world know that Jesus is a joke. N you can live how you want and go against his will and still give him praise. That is a lie! In my church. My bishop would have sat you down n silenced you in the church. The song 'Jesus' is a powerful song that needs to be song by a powerful woman of God! Miss. Leandria Johnson you are not it.

  6. It is sad to me how quick people are ready to pounce and write her off because now they have knowledge of her situation. Whereas, they can be clueless about everyone else's mess but still agree to let them "minister" to them through music and even the pulpit. The One who actually knows all including her past, present, and future decided that He would give her this gift and allow her to have a platform to share that gift. He designed it this way with the knowledge of her shortcomings and mistakes. He still considered her worthy and He still wants her to fulfill her destiny. But with limited knowledge, folks are offended as if she really did something to them. We are free to purchase what we want and listen to what we want. So no one has to listen to her. But I tend to think if we knew everybody's life (past, present, and future) and drew the same conclusion, we'd never interact with anyone, listen to music, go to church...It's really sad because we still want people to value our strengths and talents and still think we have something to offer even though we mess up all the time. Why can the same be reciprocated for her?

  7. You better preach, Johanna!

As my mother would always say, "Thank God for Grace and be even more thankful that man don't have a heaven or hell to put you in." because base on some of these comments we'll all be in hell.

Let those who are without sin cast the first stone. The last time I checked Jesus hung out with the people that would be considered the least of these. It was these people he used to help him spread the good news.

Le'Andria may have fallen short, but guess what...we all do.

  8. "It's not what goes in a man that defiles him, it's what comes out." I have sinned, don't have but one child, but have many times sinned. Let's stop trying to place ourselves on the throne. "our righteousness is as filthy rages." Jesus said, "there is none good, but God." We will have some type of struggle until we die, it may not be physical, it just maybe a bad thought or the sin of pride, but we will always have something to repent of.

She have enough to deal with, give her some slack.

  9. Ok Leandria, you have fooled some people, but not GOD. You sang about JESUS until you were cockeyed. We have to live by the standards of the gospel. When you are in CHRIST you are a new creature. When I was unsaved I did things I am not proud of. I have the fear of GOD in me. There are consequences for sin.

  10. 'Let those without sin cast the first stone'. In any case, what is a sin? It is an error. Children are never an error! What is fornication? The true meaning of this word from the Bible has been distorted.Check out the true meaning.
If all Black women followed this frame of mind about sin etc, then many women would be living even more unfulfilled lives. A child is a blessing. I think people should be responsible when making choices about bringing children into the world, but whatever the situation, they are never a sin. I trust that the father of this child will also be taken to task, if Ms Johnson is being castigated for being pregnant!

  12. I am praying that those who are singing about delieverance and salvation will truly live by what they are singing about. I'm not judging anyone, but as those representing the Christ, we must represent him truly. Fornication is a sin. It's wrong. Not once in her statement did repentence come up. But, I see that Leandria is not professing salvation. Many singers and preachers are up singing and preaching, but their life does not exemplfy holiness. God is not please with the double standard. Uphold what God says and not want man says.

  14. you know, ummmm.... No offense but really, this famous scripture that keeps being thrown out there, you know the saying, " Judge ye not lest ye be judge." I mean really. This is getting old and it's also the problem. We keep making people feel comfortable with committing sin. Particularly those that are in the spotlight of Christianinty. Now, by no means am I saying that we wont fall because fact is, we do fall and we do make mistakes but there comes a time when you need to stop calling willful sin a mistake. Leandria's problem now is that she got caught. Fact is, she was just apologizing last year for being caught up in alcoholism and other things. She posted it on youtube allowing the world to see her vurnable side. The problem here is she took our compassion for granted and ran with it. She felt, "well, all I have to do is throw them some sad song about messing up and they they will forgive me again." If Leandria was sooooo sooory, then why not inform the public as soon as she found out she was pregnant. Why wait until people began to ask questions because her belly is getting big. Truth is Leandria is sorry..... Sorrry she got caught. She needs to sit down and work on herself and stop misleading people into thinking she's this big Christian who just happens to be allowed to mess up as many times as she wants.

  15. Yes, the act of sin does make mistakes & sometimes pregnancy or diseases comes as a result of it. It's a natural cycle that happens when the egg meets the sperm. The miracle of life is an act of God but not the sin in itself. Some children are a blessing but in the way which they're created are sometimes a mistake which means accidental. That's like saying that a 10 yr. delivering a baby was God's decision no, it was a rapist that impregnanted her. None of us are perfect but with are constant disobedience & trying to change the word of God to fit our own errors & agenda's are not ok. Her issue is between her & God & he will forgive her as long as she asks for forgiveness & does not keep committing the same sin.

  16. I think people get this confused too. This doesn't mean that we are not supposed to state what is written but to be belittle someone or treat them less than human would me we're judging them. It's written there for us to know what he expects of us & we can't avoid saying something because we're concerned about feelings. But by no means should someone put her down & if she is called by God, he'll help her with her struggles. REMEMBER GOD DOES NOT CALL THE QUALIFIED, HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED. No disciple was perfect that Jesus called to walk with him when he was on earth but God qualified them & changed them.

  17. Stop making excuses for her please. This is not about her making a 'mistake'. This is about someone knowingly and willingly living a lifestyle that is CONSISTENTLY and CONTINUALLY producing bad fruit (alcoholism, drug abuse, and sexual fornicatiob). The Bible says you shall know his children by their FRUIT. The Bible says for me not to judge another BUT to judge ALL THINGS (actions, sins, doctrines). We as Christians have authority fgrom GOD to cvorrect, rebuke, and restore an erring brother or sister in a loving manner. This has NOTHING to do with her child but more so what she was doing to get preghnant with that child. You cannot go out into the world as a repesentative for the Kingdom and CONSISTENTLY keep living like the world with little remorse. The Bible says thayt GOD will judge you if you knowingly lead brothers away through your PRACTICES. Notice I said practices NOT isolated incidents. We all fall short but that has nothing to do with living an UNREPENTANT life and living a life SINCERLY trying to please GOD. There are a lot of women that looked up to her because they believed that this woman who made the same errors they did gave her life over to the Lord and was CHANGED and truly DELIVERED. Its disheartening and dissapointing to find that that might not actually be the case, and some women may actually go astray because of that thinking its ok to keep on living that way and minister on the side. Its not about perfection but SURRENDER and FAITH shown through WORKS. Faith without works is DEAD. I know God still loves her just like he loves us and the ENTIRE world to die for our sins and give us mercy. However, that's not gonna stop him from judging those who either reject him or are unwilling to truly surrender ourselves to him. God is not a FOOL. She needs to be more responsible in the future considering the SOULS that are at stake based off her ministry. Its not a judgement its just being honest with our brothers and sisters in Christ to HELP them grow and reach their full potential in Christ. Its hard for anyone to take correction but we must in order to grow. If she needs to momentarily step away from the industry or leave it all together to get things together with GOD she needs to do that. Her soul is WAY more important than even her dreams.

  20. Oh the devil is a lie... she is a powerful woman of God. Yes she did sin but that does not mean she is not anointed. God is not like man, he is a forgiving God. This is the same woman that gave everybody goosebumps on Sunday best but now all of a sudden she needs to be stoned because she committed a sin that a lot of holy rollers except she got caught. God will see the best in her just like he did you and the rest of us because its not who we are but who he has created us to be that he is looking at. Leandria should have apologized because you do have to be careful in Ministry and people need to know that she did wrong but at the end of the day she has to ask God forgiveness, not you. We do not have a Heaven nor Hell to put her in. I heard her say she didn't want any part of this anyway because she had to get some things right but when God has called you to do a work you will do it one way or the other so you may as well surrender though it is hard sometime. As soon as you claim you have Jesus because I never heard her say she had the Holy Ghost, all eyes on you. God knew that we would struggle that is why his grace and mercy is new every morning. I pray for you Leandria and I support you. God will turn your mess into a message. God will take your wrong and make you get it right if that is really what you want.

  21. ANONYMOUS-----------LET IT GO!!!! YOU ARE ENJOYING HEARING YOURSELF DESTROY WHAT GOD HAS DONE, IS DOING, AND WILL DO WITH LEANDREA! YOU ARE OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD AT THIS POINT!

PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SOUL'S SAKE, GET SOMEWHERE, SIT DOWN, SHOUT YOUR MOUTH, AND CONTROL YOUR FINGERS------

YOU ARE NOT DOING THE WILL OF GOD BUT SOWING SEEDS OF DISGARD AMONG GOD'S PEOPLE- HIS FLOCK. A MATURE CHRISTIAN WOULD- BE QUIET AND PRAY---- OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE YET STRIVING TO MEET THE MARK YOURSELF OTHER WISE YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN SOOOO MUCH OF YOUR TIME TO CONTINUE TO WRITE ABOUT THE MISHAP- MISTAKE-SIN, THAT HAS OCCURED IN HER LIFE. NOW IT'S OBVIOUS YOU DON'T WANT TO BE KNOWN, OR YOU WOULD HAVE USED ANOTHER NAME, OTHER THAN ANONYMOUS---
NOW SINCE YOU ARE AN UNDERCOVER ABUSER OF THE SAINTS, NOT LISTENING TO THE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT, OFFERED TOWARDS LEANDRIA BY OTHER WRITERS-- YOUR ARE ACTUALLY ----- PROMOTING THE ADVERSARY WHO IS KNOWN AS THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN - SATAN. NO MAN SHOULD EVER CONSIDER, MOVE INTO THE REALM OF CRITISM SUCH AS YOU HAVE DONE ON THIS PAGE.... NOW THAT THING IN YOU - I REBUKE IT IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND YOU SHOULD PRAY FOR YOURSELF THAT THE NEGATIVE SEEDS YOU HAVE SOW - GOD WILL FORGIVE, IF YOU REPENT!!!!
JUST LET IT GO! WE AS CHRISTIANS ARE NOT TO BEHAVE IN THIS MANNER- THAT IS, IF YOU ARE O-N-E!

  22. I see now that no matter what a person realizes more about others wrong doings than that image they look at in the mirror. I as a person that has rode hours with her in my vehicle to and from services she has blessed the hearts of many. All I have to say is to the one that only wants to point out her wrong. U don't know when and where she has repented and to me on the outside looking in u don't know as much about the word as u proclaim cause u speak of things u know nuthin about u have nvr seen or heard of her on drugs. And the other thing is I see that u want to itemize every single thing that you speculate she has done. U as a brother not only suppose to forgive 70 times 7 daily. Ye that are spiritual shud go and restore such a one in the spirit of meekness. I must leave u with this one too. If one is lost and u can't show them the way then u just forgive them for being lost.

  23. Listen we can say what we want, how we want to, God is so SICK and TIRED of us who are called by his name saying one thing with our LIPS and living another one. This goes for preachers, pastors, lay people whoever. I am very disappointed that Leandria did this and seem to have no shame about it, because to many church folk are patting her on the back instead of telling her the truth. She testifies of how she drinks and its obvious that she fornicate to...what are the big time PREACHERS saying or these big time SINGERS...are they doing the same thing, is that the reason everyone is trying to justify SIN, God forbids..Yes she's a great singer, but only what we do for CHIRST will last...and he know about all of us whether we are real or hypocrites..when you say one thing and live another you stand in the way of others getting to Christ..."If my people who are called by name: humble themselves, seek my face, TURN FROM WICKED WAYS, then will I hear from heaven and heal their land...She needs to sincerely pay for herself to God...we can pray but this is between her and GOD..God is sick of the CHURCH?
