Last night on Oprah's Next Chapter, she talked to the powerful women behind one of my absolute most favorite shows on television, ABC's hit series, Scandal.  She talked to the series star Kerry Washington as well as show creator Shonda Rhimes.  The other person that she talked to is one that a lot of people don't know, Judy Smith.

Judy Smith is the real life Olivia Pope.  She is one of those people you don't want to know because if you do chances are you're in trouble.

Maybe it was just me but seeing those beautiful, black women on top of their game almost made me cry.

As great as the interview was, the image of black women presented by the interview was even greater. Here were four sistas that were at the very top of their game. It was wonderful to see.

Did you watch the interview? What did you think?

Ms. Washington Goes to Washington
For the first time in almost four decades, an African-American actress has landed the lead role on a primetime television series. Oprah travels to the set of this show, ABC's hit drama Scandal, to talk with the show's star, Kerry Washington. Watch as Kerry reveals why she had no idea her character, Olivia Pope, would be so momentous.

  1. I did watch. I wanted to hear more about how Judy Smith got into this line of work. I wish her segment was longer. I didn't get emotional but it was nice to see these powerful women together. It was also great to somewhat profile Judy Smith. We hear alot about those in entertainment. We need to hear more examples of others thriving in their respective fields.
