I know people thought I was playing when I said I was through watching 'The Game', but I meant it.
You have to know that I was one of those die hard fans who has been watching the show since it premiered as a special episode on the show, 'Girlfriends.' It was one of those shows that I texted my girlfriends about while the show was on. I really was emotionally connected to the show similiarly to the way I was connected to 'Girlfriends'.
That all changed when the show went to BET. Everybody told me BET was going to ruin the show, but I was just so happy to get my Derwin and Melanie fix that I would have accepted it being on any channel. Well it appears I should have listened to what my friends said. I can honestly say BET has ruined a perfectly wonderful show. Don't get me wrong there were some bright moments such as the pairing of Jason and Chardonnay, the possible return of Rick Fox, and Melanie and Derwin's fertility issues, but that was pretty much it for the show.
The funny was gone.
Tasha Mack was no longer Tasha Mack and Malik and TT were no longer the comedic duo that I came to enjoy.
My show, yes I said my show because that's what it felt like, just wasn't the same anymore. The dismissal of Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall was just the straw that broke the camel's back as far as I am concerned. The show ended for me during the third season finale on the CW. I should have just proceeded through the rest of the stages of grief instead of staying stuck on the Denial stage.
So did you watch the premiere? What did you think?
