A list of celebrities that purportedly joined icon Stevie Wonder on his boycott of Florida (note: Wonder also boycotted all state's with the Stand Your Ground law) that was placed on American Urban Radio White House correspondent April Ryan's website has been proven to be false.
The following is the list of celebrities that Ryan said had joined the boycott:
Ryan placed a statement on her website to clear up the misunderstanding. Here is what she wrote:
I obtained from multiple sources early Monday a list of artists and entertainers who my sources told me had committed to a boycott of Florida following the George Zimmerman acquittal. Since publishing that list I have heard from several representatives of the artists named who say, on behalf of their clients, they are uncomfortable being identified on that list and are seeking additional information.
Label me a skeptic, but just reading the list led me to believe it was false. That is the reason why I didn't report on it. I'm sure a lot of people were just as suspicious of this list as I was. I'm not saying that these artists would take such a stand, I just would find it hard to believe if they actually did. Just my two cents.
