News One Now will be TV One‘s first morning news program, a one-hour live weekday telecast that is set to launch in September. TV One said today that former CNN commentator, columnist and previous TV One host Roland Martin will anchor the show, which will focus on African-American news and current affairs and be culled from the third hour of a three-hour radio show to be syndicated on Radio One network stations. It also will stream on NewsOne.com. Based in Washington, DC, News One Now will feature experts, newsmakers and celebrities. Martin previously hosted the network’s Washington Watch With Roland Martin, which ended its four-year run in May.
He was the 2013 National Association of Black Journalists’ Journalist of the Year.
