If you have been on Twitter lately, you may have read all of the backlash against CNN's Don Lemon for giving "advice" to black people in the wake of the Zimmerman verdict. His advice is not anything unheard of. However, he opened his remarks with support for Bill O'Reilly who has been trying to deflect attention away from the injustice of the Zimmerman verdict. I do not know how Don thought black people would take kindly to that. His advice was also inserted into the national conversation about Trayvon Martin leaving the impression that Trayvon contributed to his own death and that simple behavior modifications would somehow cure all that ails the black community. At best, in my opinion, this was a bad judgment call on his part. At worst, it shows that Don Lemon may harbor ill-feelings towards his own people. I am hoping for the former. Here is a clip of the video that caused uproar. Followed by Jay Smooth breaking down why so many are not happy with Don Lemon.
